The next time we came in she saw us and did not greet us. Ok, maybe she didn't see us...in the small store......with no other customers. As we went up to pay for our purchase "Jane" took a phone call, in front of us while we had $170 worth of items in front of her. I guess in her defense she was holding one item in her hand and thus was servicing us :( After a 5 minute call to which she never even apologized for, she rung up our items and we left. We went back 2 other times and got the same service, a dirty look or stare or total ignoring even when we were right next to her asking questions amongst ourselves. I find it somewhat odd that she was always very attentive and making sure we were ok yet as soon as she found out we were together, she ignored us completely and stared at us, even in an empty store.
In the past 3 years my wife and I have shopped with the Huber Heights Avenue store, I have always encountered the same two women, a middle age white woman and a middle aged African- American woman (whose name I am not sure of but for the purpose of this review, I'll call her Jane), they have always greeted us every time we walked with a smile on their faces and been very personable with us. We spend a good amount of money sometimes in clothes and A LOT of accessories, One particular shopping trip this spring my wife and I were shopping and the black woman ("Jane") were talking to us and commenting on how we are always play fighting and acting crazy, she asked that we must be sisters, I smiled and said no, try again, after several wrong guesses I simply replied that we were married, in a same sex relationship. After that she didn't have much to say and went on her business.
Super deals. Always a friendly and helpful staff.
Today was my last time shopping here. Maybe I always gave her the benefit of the doubt, maybe I carelessly thought that because we had our children and we didn't look like the "stereotypical" lesbian couple that we would not be treated badly. As we came in today, she was saying goodbye to a customer and when we came into her line of sight she stared through us gave and gave a nonchalant look and didn't speak a word in the 20 minutes we were there even as we were mere feet from her.
Love this brand and the service is beyond amazing. I've been shopping here for years and always leave with a smile. The ladies that work here are always welcoming and professional. They're the reason I am a loyal customer 5 stars.
